<dkaratza[m]> hkaiser: the PR for the API is ready, you can have a look
<hkaiser> dkaratza[m]: cool, will do!
<hkaiser> dkaratza[m]: did you see my emails yesterday about the stale documentation branches?
<dkaratza[m]> hkaiser: yes! how do you want me to deal with the changes? update the branches or integrate these changes in my branch?
<hkaiser> dkaratza[m]: I'd suggest you try starting with rebasing those branches, let's see if this works out
<hkaiser> dkaratza[m]: and thanks!
<dkaratza[m]> hkaiser: alright
<dkaratza[m]> hkaiser: no problem :D

<gonidelis[m]> what is the functionality under src here ? https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/tree/master/libs/full/performance_counters/src
<gonidelis[m]> oh id it because the counters are executables that run on their own along with the app?
<gonidelis[m]> is it *
<gonidelis[m]> GSoD22 announced!!! We are in!
hkaiser has joined #ste||ar
<gonidelis[m]> hkaiser: plz see the logs for my question asked above ;)
<hkaiser> gonidelis[m]: what do you mean by 'what is the functionality under src here'?
<hkaiser> not everything has to go into headers files, in fact, we move as much as possible out of headers
<gonidelis[m]> huh
<gonidelis[m]> well my understanding of a library is that we put everything into headers (to be reused by the users?)
<gonidelis[m]> so what is the rational of the /src dirs in general....I am just unaware of the standard practices that's why I am wondering
<K-ballo> ouch
<K-ballo> we put everything in headers because either we're forced to or we're lazy to do it properly
<gonidelis[m]> K-ballo: 1. forced by whom? 2. i thought heads was the proper way.
<K-ballo> the language
<K-ballo> some things have to be in headers, templates (pre modules), macros
<K-ballo> search online for header vs source for some basic introduction
<gonidelis[m]> why?
<gonidelis[m]> 'ight
