<dkaratza[m]> ms: Just to make sure I'm on the right track:
<dkaratza[m]> For installing hpx we're gonna provide 2 ways
<dkaratza[m]> 1. fedora `dnf install hpx*`
<dkaratza[m]> 2. arch `pacaur -S hpx` <-- not sure about this
<dkaratza[m]> vcpkg is going to be included too?
<ms[m]> diehlpk_work: is `dnf install hpx*` the up-to-date command to install hpx on fedora?
<ms[m]> dkaratza: for arch, it might be better to say something like "HPX is available in the AUR (link to this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository) as `hpx`"
<ms[m]> and yes, please include vcpkg as well, alongside `spack install hpx` with a link to https://spack.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
<dkaratza[m]> ms[m]: I think it is, i found it here https://stellar-group.org/libraries/hpx/downloads/
<ms[m]> it's very old though ;) but it's probably correct and you can use that for now, we can still update it once we get a response from patrick
<ms[m]> for aur, the reason I wouldn't use any specific command is that there's a billion tools to install stuff from the aur (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AUR_helpers) and the currently preferred tool changes over time
<dkaratza[m]> oh, alright I see
<dkaratza[m]> <ms[m]> "and yes, please include vcpkg as..." <- so should it be both `vcpkg install hpx` and `spack install hpx`?
<ms[m]> dkaratza: yep, exactly
<dkaratza[m]> but its a different way, right? 😂 sorry, i just wanna be sure
<rori[m]> I guess we can do one section `package managers in supported distribution` and `other C++ package managers` or something similar
<ms[m]> dkaratza: I don't quite understand... vcpkg and spack are different tools if that's what you're asking? One can use either (with some platform limitations)
<ms[m]> You wouldn't use them together
<dkaratza[m]> i thought you would like them to be under the same section
<dkaratza[m]> anyways, problem solved
<ms[m]> Ah, they can be under the same section as well, but they wouldn't be used together, that's all
<dkaratza[m]> would you like the titles of the sections being in imperative form or gerund?
<dkaratza[m]> i.g. Install HPX or installing HPX?
<dkaratza[m]> I know its minor, but it's nice to have a uniform way of writing
<ms[m]> dkaratza: any preference? I think we use "installing HPX" almost everywhere but I've not checked for consistency
<ms[m]> I think I prefer it as well, but I've no objective reasoning for that
<ms[m]> if we go with "install HPX" you might have some more work ahead of you... ;)
<dkaratza[m]> Yeah, I see that mainly it is -ing apart from this section https://hpx-docs.stellar-group.org/latest/html/manual/starting_the_hpx_runtime.html
<dkaratza[m]> which is a combo
<dkaratza[m]> but if you like -ing we keep it that way, no problem
<ms[m]> dkaratza: good catch
<ms[m]> would you mind changing those to be consistent?
<ms[m]> srinivasyadav227: yt? I think one of your datapar prs was merged prematurely: https://cdash.cscs.ch/viewBuildError.php?buildid=178422
<ms[m]> would you have time to fix that? it looks like it's just a question of simdpar -> par_simd

<srinivasyadav227> ok will do it soon! ;)
<srinivasyadav227> ms: yeah, i will create a PR for it :)
<ms[m]> srinivasyadav227: thanks!
<hkaiser> srinivasyadav227: sorry for skipping yesterday's meeting, we were still experiencing problems caused by the hurricane
<ms[m]> hkaiser: how bad is the chaos there?
<srinivasyadav227> hkaiser: np :), we will do it when everything is alright
<hkaiser> ms[m]: we got lucky, others not so much
<hkaiser> srinivasyadav227: how's the paper coming along?
<srinivasyadav227> hkaiser: i just got the final numbers and graphs from AMD EPYC for the paper, i will put into paper today :)
<hkaiser> nice
<dkaratza[m]> Just pushed #5534 with updates in Quick start regarding the installation steps. Hope it's fine. I will proceed with the Manual now
<hkaiser> dkaratza[m]: I'll have a look a bit later today, thanks!
<ms[m]> dkaratza: thank you!
<gonidelis[m]> dkaratza: thanks for the work ;)
<hkaiser> gonidelis[m]: thanks for the DCA email!
<gonidelis[m]> hkaiser: np... sorry for being late
<gnikunj[m]> dkaratza thanks!
<hkaiser> did you know you can open a web-based visual studio code directly from any github repo now? just press '.' in the browser to see how it works - cool stuff
<srinivasyadav227> omg!!, thats crazy, lol
