20:20 <jbjnr> hkaiser: not sure it matters, but when I was working on the viz stuff with vtkm and hpx and I was working on the reduce-by-key and suchlike, I also had trouble with the type and initialization of the inclusive scan stuff. I still have a branch dating back to 2015-2016 with my implementations of scan + friends on. They broke when some range based apis were added, so I never made a PR.
