<ms[m]>
they're actually only build targets actually, not ctest tests
<hkaiser>
ms[m]: I'm not able to reproduce the release issue, btw
<ms[m]>
:/
<ms[m]>
in the worst case we drop the -permissive flag, that was anyways just an extra
<ms[m]>
I suppose adding more verbosity to the gh actions build won't help much?

<hkaiser>
ms[m]: might help if we showed the command lines
<hkaiser>
ms[m]: also, the debug build works for me as well, however I don't see the "warning C4530: C++ exception handler used, but unwind semantics are not enabled. Specify /EHsc" which could be an indication that some of the build flags don't propagate
diehlpk has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<ms[m]>
hrm, looks like CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS is propagated, but there could indeed be something else missing
<ms[m]>
hmm, the c++ standard flag... not sure where or if that's propagated
<ms[m]>
but then you can't reproduce the error so it might be something different
bita has joined #ste||ar
<hkaiser>
ms[m]: I think just setting CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS to -permissive- removes (overwrites) the default flags
<hkaiser>
if you set that flag, you should set it to: /DWIN32 /D_WINDOWS /W3 /GR /EHsc /permissive-
<ms[m]>
hkaiser: should those use - instead of /? where does the default CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS come from? is it actually from the environment or does CMake set it to that if CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS isn't set? that'd be weird :/
<hkaiser>
ms[m]: I always though you could set CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS only after the project() statement
<hkaiser>
ms[m]: also - instead of / could help, I'll try that
<ms[m]>
why?
<hkaiser>
shrug, I have read it somehwere, could be wrong
<ms[m]>
I regularly set in on linux at least, but it's cmake so...
<hkaiser>
ok
<ms[m]>
K-ballo: might know
<ms[m]>
and it might do something different on windows
<ms[m]>
it's either the / or something isn't quoted properly
<ms[m]>
does it do the same for you locally?
<k-ballo[m]>
the default toolchain initializes CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS from CXXFLAGS
<hkaiser>
I push using the '-' instead
<ms[m]>
ah, that'd explain it
<hkaiser>
K-ballo: so we should set CXXFLAGS on the command line instead?
