<rachitt_shah[m]> Had question, one the why HPX page, would it be alright if I break the current paragraphs into couple of sub paras? Would be it more readable
<rachitt_shah[m]> on the*
<rachitt_shah[m]> Also, just asking, the Why HPX page would look really good if we could add infographics, as we have in some examples, like fibonacci
<rachitt_shah[m]> Also gnikunj /gonidelis would it be possible for you to have a short call today(~15 mins)? Together or separate, either works, wanted to get more feedback.
<rachitt_shah[m]> ms: if we want to show what's the file from which the docs are being written, I would need to play with https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/blob/master/cmake/templates/conf.py.in? Wanted to try to display the file from where the docs are being generated.
<ms[m]> rachitt_shah: that sounds like a good start, we might want to prioritize it in the meeting on thursday
<ms[m]> yes, most likely conf.py.in would need changes for that
<ms[m]> how are the other in-progress things going?
<rachitt_shah[m]> <ms[m] "how are the other in-progress th"> Doxygen was able to produce a documentation build locally for it's own docs, running it on HPX now. Apart from this worked on the PR a bit, added tutorials to quickstart, and changing with the toctree structure a bit.
<gnikunj[m]> <rachitt_shah[m] "Also gnikunj /gonidelis would it"> rachitt_shah: can we do it tomorrow please? I have 3 meetings I need to prepare for.
<gonidelis[m]> rachitt_shah that^^
<rachitt_shah[m]> Absolutely, whenever it's feasible for you folks
<rachitt_shah[m]> Was trying to build docs using doxygen, and got this error halfway, I've installed LaTeX yet getting the same.
<rachitt_shah[m]> Doxygen was able to install locally
<ms[m]> rachitt_shah: what are you trying to build/run? what's the command and do you hope to get out of it?
<ms[m]> `sh: 1: epstopdf: not found` you'll need to install whatever provides this
<ms[m]> have you installed texlive? on the other hand it looks like you're trying to build doxygens own documentation using doxygen, and we don't (at this point) need to have it built using latex, html is enough
hkaiser has joined #ste||ar
<rachitt_shah[m]> I built texlive, I missed epstopdf, got it installed.
<rachitt_shah[m]> I'm trying to build a local doxygen example prior to running doxygen on hpx's docs, and yes I would toggle build options to html, need to do that
<rachitt_shah[m]> Nevermind, was able to troubleshoot it, would ask for help if stuck
<rachitt_shah[m]> * was able to troubleshoot it, would ask for help if stuck
<gnikunj[m]> ms: just fyi: with hpx 1.7, Kokkos no longer builds with hpx backend
<gnikunj[m]> some changes to nullary threads throws in error while I was trying to build it
<ms[m]> gnikunj: thanks, I'm aware (it stopped working a bit earlier)
<ms[m]> I've been trying to get it up to date but haven't had the time to finish
<gnikunj[m]> Ah, so it's known.
<ms[m]> if you'd like an in-progress branch I can give you that, otherwise just stick to 1.6.0 with kokkos
<gnikunj[m]> I stuck to 1.6. It seems to be working.
<ms[m]> 👍️
<hkaiser> ms[m]: what broke, if I may ask?
<ms[m]> I can ping you whenever I get those changes into kokkos, promised that to gdaiss as well...
<hkaiser> could that be a problem somewhere else too?
<gnikunj[m]> hkaiser: changes in namespaces
<gnikunj[m]> functions in hpx::threads were either moved somewhere else or changed names
<ms[m]> unlikely, the backend in kokkos was using old deprecated names to be compatible with a bigger range of hpx versions, but we removed some of the deprecated names in 1.7.0
<hkaiser> ahh
<hkaiser> so it's an old problem
<ms[m]> it's just time to update the backend in kokkos
<hkaiser> sure

<diehlpk_work> K-ballo, Are you still interested to add the C++ standardization section to the paper?
<K-ballo> diehlpk_work: I entirely forgot about that, sorry, I don't have the time at the moment
<diehlpk_work> Do you have the time before September?
<diehlpk_work> That would be the latest to get content for the paper
<K-ballo> I may have some time the first weeks of sept, but I won't know for sure until then
<diehlpk_work> K-ballo, Ok, let us wait closer to the deadline. If you need more time, we could say mid of September as well.
<diehlpk_work> I think that would be important for the paper to have this text since this in one of the strength of HPX
<diehlpk_work> gnikunj[m], gonidelis[m] How is the taskbench stuffg oing?
<gonidelis[m]> diehlpk_work: just has a meeting with gnikunj nun and karame
<gonidelis[m]> nan*
