1. skipp install imo

if you jsut build, then you can link hpx to your application by passing -HPX_DIR=<your_path_to_build_dir>/lib/cmake/HPX (make sure you have not `make install`ed in this dir though!

2. if you work just with local hpx, disable distributed runtime -DHPX_WITH_NETWORKING=OFF -DHPX_WITH_DISTRIBUTED_RUNTIME=OFF -DHPX_WITH_LOGGING=OFF when building HPX (it is my impression that you might need those for hpxMP though, not sure ask Rod)

3. keep different build dirs for different uses. for examples keep a release_build, a debug_build, a patch_build etc...

also do skip building the examples if you do not need them:)
