parsa: btw, I have updated the vcpkg archive to contain openblas and clapack for blaze
patg has quit [Quit: See you later]
<parsa>
hkaiser: that's actually a problem
<hkaiser>
lol
<parsa>
looks for the wrong .lib files
<hkaiser>
I just added the files exported from vcpkg
<hkaiser>
parsa: well, that's all mangeled into one big PR
<hkaiser>
many independent things, difficult to see through what's important
<parsa>
do you want me to split that PR?
<hkaiser>
some cleanup of the commit history might be helpful too
<parsa>
i was waiting for you to merge it.. didn't happen so i kept adding to it
<hkaiser>
didn't have time to look yet
<hkaiser>
parsa: also, it does not pass circleci and appveyor, why should we merge it?
<hkaiser>
it would break master
<parsa>
it was working until put in the cmake stuff
<hkaiser>
lol, so you want me to merge it now?
<hkaiser>
will teach you not to add unrelated things to a PR
<parsa>
not in this shape.. let me revert
<hkaiser>
and pls clean the commit history
<parsa>
why?
<hkaiser>
why do we need to have 5 commits saying 'fixing update Dockerfile'?
<hkaiser>
removing eigen from docker does belong onto a separate pr
<hkaiser>
row/column inconsistencies is a separate pr as well
<parsa>
because we broke things so we edited again
<hkaiser>
yah
<hkaiser>
force push helps with that - if somebody wants to understand the sequence of commits, it's very difficult to follwo
<zao>
Rewrite all the things!
<hkaiser>
parsa: also, I don't think that it's appropriate to create a PR and just merge it 5 minutes later without giving anybody a chance to look at it
<hkaiser>
(see #85)
<hkaiser>
without even waiting for circleci to cycle
<hkaiser>
parsa: how did you even manage to merge #85 without any review and before the tests passed?
<parsa>
didn't matter a) circle-ci was passing the commit i merged b) i was merging into my own branch... i should've just rebased into my branch instead of creating a PR
<hkaiser>
ahh, sorry - I thought that went into master
<hkaiser>
ok, I take that back ;)
<parsa>
i'll never merge into master like that even if i'm confident in it
<hkaiser>
parsa: sorry for doubting you
<zao>
So what's K-B coming up for, evil mastermind meeting?
<hkaiser>
C++ ISO meeting
<hkaiser>
parsa: did you talk to Agusting wrt Monday?
<parsa>
we did, i'll pick him up
<hkaiser>
parsa: thanks a lot!
<parsa>
sure thing
<parsa>
hkaiser: see #86
<hkaiser>
:D
<hkaiser>
very nice
<parsa>
oh
<parsa>
there.
<hkaiser>
parsa: can we delete the branch as well? or do you still need it?
<parsa>
i still need it... i'll remove it once i'm done with it
<hkaiser>
ok, thanks

<hkaiser>
parsa: hold on
<hkaiser>
parsa: uhh, it somehow stored the path where the vcpkg stuff was built (my machine)
<hkaiser>
could you find out what file that is stored in? is it the blaze-config.cmake file?
<parsa>
i can't verify it but my guess is blaze-targets.cmake
<hkaiser>
yah, found it - that's bad!
<hkaiser>
mean that you can export things from vcpkg
<hkaiser>
means*
<hkaiser>
I will edit that file and re-upload the binaries
<parsa>
thank you
<hkaiser>
I will also comment on the vcpkg ticket, they have to fix this
<parsa>
hkaiser: i reinstalled blaze an hour ago and i remember vcpkg applied a .patch file that was named something like remove-absolute-paths.patch before installing it. can you verify again it doesn't work for you if you reinstall it?
<hkaiser>
k
<hkaiser>
in any case, I reuploaded the dependencies and triggered a rebuild
<parsa>
wonderful. thanks

<hkaiser>
cannot open file 'C:\projects\vcpkg\installed\x64-windows\lib\lapack.lib
<parsa>
it the path correct?
<hkaiser>
should be
<hkaiser>
no, it's wrong
<hkaiser>
it should link with the debug version
<hkaiser>
I removed the release libraries to safe some space :/
<parsa>
ah that makes sense
<parsa>
also: "The process cannot access the file 'C:\projects\phylanx\build\Debug\bin\boost_system-vc141-mt-gd-1_65_1.dll' because it is being used by another process."
<hkaiser>
parsa : should be C:\projects\vcpkg\installed\x64-windows\debug\lib\lapack.lib
<parsa>
is this still a Vcpkg issue?
<hkaiser>
shrug
<hkaiser>
you tell me
<parsa>
because i didn't add anything to look for BLAS.
<hkaiser>
I can re-add the release version of the lapack.lib
<parsa>
(or LAPACK)
jaafar has joined #ste||ar
<parsa>
hkaiser: there's no mention of either BLAS or LAPACK anywhere in the scripts inside vcpkg/installed. so Blaze isn't the one that added them as dependencies.
<hkaiser>
parsa: in the vcpkg ticket he said that we still need to use find_package for blas and lapack ourselves
<hkaiser>
becuase of release/debug issues
<hkaiser>
exactly what we see
<parsa>
i'll try that
<parsa>
hkaiser: can i merge #87?
<hkaiser>
I did merge it
<parsa>
:)

hkaiser: I fixed the bib problem with the journal paper although we need to add years to all the misc references
<patg>
but references compile now
<hkaiser>
patg: cool, thanks
<patg>
and there were some missing pdfs for images
<hkaiser>
did Adrian miss copying those over?
<patg>
hkaiser: I think the .gitignore file ignored them
<patg>
so I fixed that too
<hkaiser>
thanks
<patg>
can't ignore all pdfs if you are using some
