<heller_> K-ballo: looks like a code pattern from the past ;)
<K-ballo> yeah, I read the discussion in #3134 but it looked completely irrelevant

<sam29> I am trying to build the boost library which is a prerequisite for building hpx. In the following link https://stellar-group.github.io/hpx/docs/html/hpx/manual/build_system/prerequisites/boost_installation.html , I think this command "bootstrap --prefix=<where to install boost>" should actually be "./bootstrap.sh --prefix=<where to install boost>" because bootstrap is a shell script file in the boost folder.
<sam29> Can someone please confirm whether its actually a typo or I am doing something wrong
<K-ballo> sam29: sure
<K-ballo> looks like a mix of windows and unix commands

<sam29> K-ballo: When we are not specifying the directory "<where to install boost>" then would it get install in " /usr/local/ " if we are running with sudo command ?

<hkaiser> sam29: for boost, you might want to read/follow this: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_66_0/more/getting_started/index.html
<zao> sam29: Typically that's where things end up, yes, and it's a bad idea :)

<parsa> it doesn't compile
<parsa> works on my machine though
<parsa> the circleci error doesn't make any sense… i'll have it rebuild agin

<jbjnr> K-ballo: there is no release date set in stone

<jbjnr> march sometime probably
<K-ballo> alright, quite enough time still

<hkaiser> jbjnr: March 28th is 10 year HPX anniversary
<hkaiser> sounds like a perfect release date
<parsa> hkaiser: did rebuild several times and still fails… it's must be using the old hpx
